Events

The Events section serves as a comprehensive audit log and real-time monitoring hub for your network. It's divided into three tabs: Management Events, Network Events, and Notifications.

Management Events tab

Management events track administrative actions taken within the NetFoundry console or via API. This provides a clear chain of custody for all configuration changes.

The table displays these details for every administrative action:

  • Event Type: The action performed
  • Event Description: A brief summary of the specific change
  • Resource Type: The category of the affected object
  • User: The email address or service account that initiated the change
  • Time: The timestamp of the event
  • Name: The name of the specific resource that was modified
  • Trace Id: A unique identifier used for deep-level troubleshooting and log correlation

Use the Type to Filter field to filter by keywords or resource names. Refine results by selecting preset or custom date ranges, using the Select Time Range field, and toggling between local and UTC timezones.

Network Events tab

Network events focus on the operational status of the fabric, specifically tracking the connectivity state of SDKs and routers.

The table provides a real-time and historical view of endpoint health:

  • Event Type: Indicates the connectivity status change
  • Resource Type: Identifies the resource type
  • Time: The timestamp of the event change
  • Name: The name of the identity or router associated with the event

Use the Type to Filter field to filter by keywords or resource names. Refine results by selecting preset or custom date ranges, using the Select Time Range field, and toggling between local and UTC timezones.

Notifications tab

The Notifications tab allows you to manage automated alerts and subscriptions, ensuring key stakeholders are notified when specific network or management events occur.

Click the plus icon in the top right to create a new notification subscription.

This table lists all active alert configurations:

  • Name: The custom name assigned to the notification
  • Type: The category of the alert
  • Destination: The recipient of the alert
  • Date Subscribed: When the notification rule was originally created
